Drilling to date is accessed using a pre-existing road and occurring private property held by Metallic Minerals. The type of drilling we do is diamond core drilling, which is used to take continuous subsurface geologic samples. Data collected from the core samples is used to build 3-D models of subsurface geology.
Drilling involves the following:
- Permitted quantities of potable water & non-toxic drilling additive AMC CR 650 (also used in drilling water wells)
- Water is contained and recycled during the drilling process
- Safety and environmental control throughout
- Site will be reclaimed to its original state after drilling completed
- Activities are regulated by the United States Forest Service (USFS) and the Colorado Department of Natural Resources (DNR); Division of Water Resources (DWR), and Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS)
